All middle schoolers and high schoolers as well as rising middle schoolers are invited to our “Back to School Bash” August 17th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church. Invite some friends for a time of fellowship, food and games. Also, please be sure to have your youth bring a change of clothes and a towel. If your youth is interested in attending, please sign up here as we need a head count sooner rather than later. Looking forward to this time together!
During August and September, we are diving into the “Book of Acts” as we learn about the early church and how the gospel was spread. We would love for your youth to be a part of our Sunday morning time of fellowship that starts @ 9:00 a.m. during the Summer. We will be going back to our regular schedule starting August 25th @ 9:45 a.m.
I also wanted to invite you and your families to join us on Wednesday nights starting August 21st. for our family dinner, start @ 5:30 p.m. followed by our adult Bible study, mission friends, mission journeys and youth group. This year, we are focusing on a theme called “Dare to Share.” Too often than not, we are comfortable doing what we have always done expecting different results. We've allowed ourselves to believe that if we go to church, give money, volunteer our time and attend mission trips that somehow that will get us into God's good graces. However, God never called is us to be mediocre with the gospel. This Fall, join us in prayer as we challenge our youth each Wednesday night to share their faith in tangible, meaning full ways.
Our next Fireside chat for our middle schoolers is August 25th @ 6:30 p.m. at the church! This chat will be focused on “Prayer” and how having a prayer life is vital in our pursuing a relationship with Jesus!
Our Fall retreat to Eagle Eyrie is right around the corner. The cost to go is $50.00 and the deadline to sign up is August 23rd. Please let us know if you are interested in going by signing up here. During this weekend at Eagle Eyrie, we will be diving into God’s Word as well as building relationships with each other. We also have planned to head up to “SnowFlex” at Liberty University to enjoy a time of tubing and skiing! We are looking forward to spending time with your youth during this exciting weekend! Scholarships are available as well if needed!
As always, I have an open-door policy. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns or if you just want to chat. I look forward to what God is, will and what He is already doing at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church!
