Pastor's Corner: Hope at Christmas

Updated: Jan 4, 2023

You are not alone. This is the good news of Christmas, that even when we fail and fall, God has not forgotten us. He has come to save us. John 1:5 says “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Life is often very dark. Often our hopes and dreams for what life could be like are not met, and relationships are torn apart from conflict, sin, and death. But this is why Christmas is so important. It reminds us that even when we feel alone, we can turn to the light of the world who has come down to be with us and walk with us even in the darkness. This is the foundation for our hope, and it is the only thing that can get us through the darkest times of life. As John continues to say in 1:12 “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Let Jesus in today and rejoice because he will be with you to face anything and everything life throws your way.

In Christ,

Pastor Benjamin Boyd
