Honor the birth of Jesus with us this Christmas season.
The Christmas season is a busy time of year. Presents to buy. Meals to cook. Family to visit. And so many preparations to be made. But how should we celebrate the birth of Jesus?
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Mt. Olivet Baptist Church prepares for the birth of Christ and the season of Christmas by observing the season of Advent. For four weeks leading up to Christmas, we reflect on Hope, Peace, Joy and Love as we light a candle to represent each theme during worship, and during our Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, we light the Christ candle and remember the holy moment God came into the world as a baby in a manager.
In addition to Advent, Mt. Olivet offers many opportunities for us to celebrate Christmas and honor the holiness of this season together.
